This is a revised travel advisory from the Department of Health.
Due to the rapid spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, the following travel restrictions are effective immediately.
Talofa Airways flights to and from the Kingdom of Tonga are suspended until further notice.
All charter flights will be denied entry until further notice.
For travelers from American Samoa to Samoa, you must have a health clearance from Tafuna Health Clinic 3 days before travel. Note that residents staying more than 3 days must get clearance from the Ministry of Health before returning. You can dial the Ministry of Health at 685-68100.
For those traveling beyond Samoa and returning, you must spend 14 days in Samoa, acquire a health clearance from the Ministry of Health 3 days before returning and provide your travel itinerary upon arrival.
All travelers entering American Samoa must also complete the Department of Health’s new Travel Declaration Form.
For travelers from Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines, everyone (including American Samoa residents) traveling and transiting through any affected foreign countries must spend 14 days in Hawaii, get a health clearance 3 days before the flight and provide an itinerary at check-in and upon arrival. You must also complete the new DOH Travel Declaration Form.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, US passport holders and returning residents traveling from and transiting through any of the affected US states will be subject to Public Health screening and may be medically quarantined or home quarantined. Any person who is home quarantined is restricted from leaving their home until cleared by a Public Health Physician.
The list of affected US states includes:
Hawaii Washington Oregon California Nevada Arizona Texas Colorado Utah Kansas Oklahoma Nebraska Minnesota Wisconsin Illinois Missouri Tennessee Kentucky And most of the eastern US. The list continues to grow.

All entry permits are suspended until further notice except for returning residents with valid Immigration ID’s or Immigration Board approval.
For those arriving at our seaport, all vessels and persons are subject to the same screening requirements.
Cruise ships will not be granted entry into American Samoa until further notice.
If you plan to travel to any US state or country affected by the COVID-19 virus, the Department of Health strongly recommends that you postpone your trip unless absolutely necessary.
All residents traveling abroad are advised to return to American Samoa.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include: Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties.
All residents seeking health services from the Leone clinic are asked to go to the Tafuna Health Clinic.
Parents with children needing transportation to the clinic should call the COVID-19 Hotline or 699-6380.
